refclock local problem

Aha, my (new) clockmaker has:
os.system("./waf configure --refclock=nmea,pps,shm,gpsd")

> If you want to run things by hand, the general approach is

>    ./waf build
>    ./waf install

Modded clockmaker, used --update...  no joy.   Maybe I should have used 
--config first.

Tried waf as per above, works fine.
This version was compiled with the following clock drivers:
        LOCAL        NMEA         PPS         SHM        GPSD
