Hello,

I run ntpsec 1.1.1 in a chroot.

In /var/log/messages we find messages like:

Jun 18 14:37:45 vuurmuur ntpd[7399]: DNS: dns_probe: surfplank2,
cast_flags:1, flags:801
Jun 18 14:37:45 vuurmuur ntpd[7399]: DNS: dns_check: processing
surfplank2, 1, 801
Jun 18 14:37:45 vuurmuur ntpd[7399]: DNS: dns_check: DNS error: -11,
System error
Jun 18 14:37:45 vuurmuur ntpd[7399]: DNS: dns_take_status:
surfplank2=>error, 12
Jun 18 14:37:47 vuurmuur ntpd[7399]: DNS: dns_probe: ntp.xs4all.nl,
cast_flags:1, flags:801
Jun 18 14:37:47 vuurmuur ntpd[7399]: DNS: dns_check: processing
ntp.xs4all.nl, 1, 801
Jun 18 14:37:47 vuurmuur ntpd[7399]: DNS: dns_check: DNS error: -11,
System error
Jun 18 14:37:47 vuurmuur ntpd[7399]: DNS: dns_take_status:
ntp.xs4all.nl=>error, 12

- What is happening here?
- How can we fix the DNS error? Which library or whatever is missing?
- How can we filter this logging from the stream?

Please let us know!

Kind regards,
Udo
