I'm even happier if waf autodetects too old openssl.  We can't just
support the latest/coolest/shiniest

Yes, very strange.  21 years ago it started out as Slackware, now
it resembles Frankenstein's Monster, but works pretty well.

I'm aware of many similar dinosaurs maintained by other people.
