I will write a crontab to keep the last 50 or so files then move the rest to 
archive/snapshot/<year>/ .. These ones will stay around forever.

I keep snapshots around forever since it helps many users with debugging who do 
not want to deal with Git.  This will let them have checkpoints on functional 
builds instead of having to deal with other commits that may have broken 
something.

There is no difference from the snapshot and a real release.  We didn't do a 
tarball for the last release but it doesn't require asciidoc or Bison.  The 
files are shipped pregenerated.
