Update... My listening to :: rather than ::1 was wrong. It's listening to :: so it can drop anything that arrives there. (It wants to know which interface a packet arrives on.) It's not listening to ::1 because the default configuration is to disable IPv6. I'll bet ntpq doesn't have the disable IPv6 logic. -- These are my opinions. I hate spam.
