I don't expect to mess with the time.  I just want to run our version of ntpd 
rather than classic.

Yes, it will screwup occasionally.  Hopefully that will be rare.  How 
horrible is it if the time is off?  Would it be better to discover problems 
ourselves or wait for users to find them?

If HEAD is broken too often, we should consider getting the buildbot machines 
to run the latest release and help with testing when we are getting ready for 
another release.  Or when some other process has decided that HEAD is good 
enough.
