ntpsecd on the host in question was not compiled from source. It
is running 1.2.0 as supplied in the 'stable' Debian package
repository.

I _am_ able to use ntpq to add and remove network time servers,
so I know my ntpq-authentication process is working (and the
add/remove portion of ntpq is working). I'm able to 'unpeer' my
pps by assid. I am just unable to find a way to add it back.

The line in my conf is:

refclock pps minpoll 0 ppspath /dev/pps0 refid pps

I've tried adding it back with that exact line. I've tried
crafting a new line using the old-school 127. address.

I do also have a NMEA reference clock defined. Maybe the PPS
reference clock can't be added back to the existing NMEA clock
signal? But if I unpeer my NMEA reference clock, I am similarly
unable to add it back with ntpq.

After removing either reference clock, the only way I can find to
re-connect them is to HUP ntpsecd
