Does ntpsec log authentication errors

Is there a way to get ntpsec to log authentication errors?

I have symmetric key authentication configured for the connection between my local ntpd (client) and a remote NTP server. I would like to be notified if connection fails due to an authentication failure (and any other connection failures). I can't seem to find any log entries when I force an authentication failure even though ntpq shows that the connection failed:

ind assid status conf reach auth condition last_event cnt
===========================================================
  1 17767  c011   yes    no   bad    reject    mobilize  1
  2 17768  961a   yes   yes  none  sys.peer    sys_peer  1
