A fresh build of latest git shows me, straight after ntpd restart:

# /usr/bin/ntpq -c kerninfo|/bin/awk -e '/pll offset:/ ' -e '/estimated
error/'
pll offset:            -0.363512
estimated error:       0.000147

I guess that is a good sign.
