Hooookayyyy, then...

18K clients on 10-year old hardware with a processor a bit more than half
the speed of current and slower memory, drives utilization to a whole whopping
three percent.

*Gasp!* 3%?  Find me my fainting couch...

Yeah, that's pretty consistent with what I see on my RasPis.

It takes the hammer of Thor to any theory that ntpd might have any serious
performance problems on server- or desktop-class hardware.  Maybe on really
low-power embedded systems, but even that seems dubious in 2019.
