Blizzard of warnings on NetBSD 8

And we will.  But I'm reluctant to turn off -Wformat; that treats a symptom.
not the problem, and might supress real bug warnings.

I think eliminating the warnings can wait until we know how to fix the
problem. I've assigned Ian to find that out and jawbone the NetBSD
devs into fixing their docs.
