How long is long enough?

Your initial message was:

That didn't have any qualifiers, but it raised an interesting issue.  I was 
trying to explore the space rather than focus on this particular issue.

Each billion costs 30 bits.

If the timespec worked out to 292 years would you put fixing that on our todo 
list?
