I find this thread the proof of the pudding!  A lot of progress was made
in the last few days on some really horrid old code and comments.

I think everyone can agree the changes are on balance positive in the end,
and any remaining complaints aired sooner rather than later.  Plus
key people have a much better concensus on how things are.

The inputs from Hal, Achim, ncguk, and others have been all appreciated
and beneficial.  Keep 'em coming please.
