I can hack that for my scripts.  I'll just delete pylib/version.py

I think you have fixed the /usr/local/lib/pylib stuff
(maybe post your msg.  I just did a git pull to check)

The current version string from ntpq doesn't have any date info.
(and I don't care about the build directory)
