Well, then your email proves nothing about detecting ntpd version
remotely.  Since you had no ntp to detect.

Yes, I tried that too.  But since there is no ntp on tcp it shows
nothing:

Yup, no ntpd on TCP, not a surprise since ntp is a UDP protocol.

I already sent the nmaps for ntp on udp, which shows zero version
information.
